Describe a character and explain why they are important

Curley’s wife is an important character in the book ‘Of Mice and Men’ by John Steinbeck. This character was lonely and rejected, not trusted by any character and thought to cause predicaments. Curley’s wife was important in the novel because she was murdered by Lennie Small and influenced his future. Curley’s wife in addition displayed two main themes loneliness and death making her significantly important.

Curley’s wife was lonely and rejected. She was always looking for someone to talk to and never succeeded because all the ranch workers avoided her. An example of this rejection is “you are not wanted here, we told you, you are not’’ this is Crooks speaking defending himself and Lennie from her annoyance. All the men in the bunkroom do not trust Curley’s wife and believe she causes predicaments. I assume this because they say “do not even take a look at that bitch I do not care what she says and what she does I seen ‘em poison before” this is George Speaking telling Lennie to keep way from her. A quote about Curley’s wife cause a predicament is “she gonna make a mess there’s a bad mess about her” this is one of the men speaking to George.

Curley’s wife is an important character in the novel. This is because Lennie accidentally murders her. Lennie is mentally challenged and gets carried away easily. Lennie breaks her neck by grabbing her when she starts to yell “her neck looks bust”. As a result of this advent it decides Lennie’s fate for him and he is murdered “he pulled the trigger Lennie jarred, and settled slowly forward to the sand”. This creates Curley’s wife as an important character because, Lennie was murdered and he is a main character.

Curley’s wife is significantly important in this novel because she displays two main themes. These two themes are loneliness and death. She displays loneliness because she is not allowed to talk to any one and wants a normal conversation an example of this is “I get lonely you can talk to people but I can talk to nobody but Curley’’. The second theme she displays is death because she is murdered a quote to support my statement is “that bastard killed my wife” that quote is from Curley talking to the men at the ranch. These are two example of her importance to the novel because she displayed two main themes.

In conclusion Curley’s wife is an important character in the novel ‘Of Mice and Men’ by John Steinbeck. She was lonely and rejected, not trusted by any character and thought to cause predicaments. Curley’s wife was important in the novel because she was murdered by Lennie Small and, displayed to main themes loneliness and death.
